Caroline Lukens, Cowgirl 30 Under 30

Updated: Mar 26

This month, I was inducted into the 2024 Cowgirl 30 Under 30 class in Fort Worth, Texas for my work as the Rodeo Operations Coordinator at the National Western Stock Show. I was among 30 other women in the western and agricultural industries to receive this award. It is such an honor and a privilege to stand beside these amazing women and celebrate the hard work and contributions each lady brings to their field. There are women in many different fields of work; including, fellow western events professionals, veterinary medicine, marketing, college rodeo coaching, small business owners, western art & history, livestock producers, and many more!

The Trip - Friday: The Cowgirl 30 Under 30 gala is one night, but we had two fun filled days of activities as recipients. The first day we met for a welcome brunch where we got to meet fellow recipients, get our headshots taken, meet with some sponsors, receive our generous welcome gifts, have a cocktail hour and more. Later that night, we met back up at the Tannahill's Tavern & Music Hall for the Gala. The program was in an intimate music hall with a stage and banquet tables. Each recipient stat with their guests and ate a delicious steak dinner (kudos to their catering team for cooking that many quality steaks). They began the programming with a feature video on two of the recipients and a welcome from the MC. The keynote speaker was Judy Wagner with Montana Silversmiths. In addition to the key note speaker and a few other small remarks, each recipient gave a short acceptance speech after they were recognized by the reading of their biography. It was a beautiful program and fun to learn more about each recipient.

Saturday: The morning after the Gala, recipients met for breakfast at Cavender's and later visited a few other sponsors including Double D Ranch, Old Gringo Boots, and Wrangler where we were spoiled with warm welcomes and gifts. The sponsor generosity from this program is second to none and they deserve such large praise.

After the morning of shopping, we made our way to Arlington, Texas where we watched The American Rodeo. This event was exceptionally special to me as Rodeo All-Star is a part of the Contender Series leading up to The American. At The American we watched the top 10 athletes compete for their spot in the 4 man round. Between go-rounds, Aaron Watson performed. After Aaron Watson, we watched the top 4 contestants in each event compete for their chance to win $100,000. After the champions were crowned, we were treated to a Post Malone concert.

It was such an honor to be recognized as a Cowgirl 30 Under 30 (wearing my Table Mountain Turquoise). A huge thank you to Cowgirl Magazine and all of the generous sponsors for making this program possible.
